Sept. 4: The Meadow Lake RCMP have arrested an adult male following a firearm discharge that damaged two residential properties and two vehicles. At approximately 9:30 p.m., Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of a firearm discharge on 8th Street West in Meadow Lake. Investigation determined an individual discharged a firearm in the direction of a residential property. The residence, two vehicles and a second residence nearby were damaged. No injuries were reported to police in relation to the firearm being discharged. Meadow Lake RCMP engaged Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services to assist in the search for the suspect. The police dog tracked the suspect, locating a bag which contained ammunition and a knife. The items were seized by officers. The suspect was not located. As a result of continued investigation, on Sept. 5, an adult male was arrested at a residence on 7th Avenue West in Meadow Lake. Konnor Burnouf, 21, of Meadow Lake is charged with: two counts of mischief under $5,000 (damage to property); two counts of mischief under $5,000 (damage to a motor vehicle); one count of failing to comply with an undertaking condition; one count of careless use of a firearm; one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm; one count of discharging a firearm with intent; and one count of wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an offence. Burnouf was scheduled to appear in Meadow Lake provincial court Sept. 8. 

Sept. 5: Saskatchewan RCMP’s Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Team was conducting patrols in Meadow Lake. They observed a vehicle driving erratically at a high rate of speed. The officers engaged their emergency lights and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop. As a result of investigation, the vehicle was located parked in Meadow Lake. No one was inside. Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services were engaged, and the police dog tracked to a house on 4th Street West. Officers arrested an adult male there. As a result of continued investigation, 24-year-old Brandon McCallum of Meadow Lake is charged with: one count of flight from a peace officer; one count of dangerous operation of a conveyance; and one count of resisting a peace officer. He was also arrested on a warrant for an Aug. 24 assault on Canoe Lake Cree First Nation. McCallum was scheduled to appear in Meadow Lake provincial court Sept. 8.

 Sept. 7: At approximately 11 p.m., Ile-a-la Crosse RCMP received a report of a shooting in Ile-a-la Crosse. Investigation determined a firearm was discharged, injuring an adult male on Ahenakew Boulevard. He was treated at the hospital for injuries described as serious in nature. Ile-a-la Crosse RCMP continue to investigate.
