Lydia Friesen

Lydia was born in Meadow Lake to parents Paul and Olga Leschuk, and passed away in Meadow Lake Union Hospital, after a battle with numerous cancers.
Lydia taught in junior high schools for 30 years. She also made many friends and remained friends with them. She loved teaching and her many pupils who still kept in touch with her. After retirement, she enjoyed gardening and her flower beds. She also enjoyed making soup from scratch and many different needle work hobbies.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind her husband of 51 years, Randy Friesen; sisters: Helen Pliska and families, and Shirley (Bob) Steiger and families; brothers: Alex (Maxine) Leschuk and families, and Rick (Shelley) and families; in-laws: Eldon (Dorothy) Friesen and families, and Darvin (Lorenda) Friesen and families; foster sisters: Korrina (Carl) Relitz and families, and Lenenore Alexander.
She was predeceased by her parents: Paul and Olga Leschuk; brother-in-law: Sergey Pliska; parents-in-law: Dave and Elizabeth Friesen; brother-in-law: Larry Friesen.
At her request, there will be no funeral service, cremation by Martens Warman Funeral Home. A memorial will be held at a later date with immediate family.
Randy and the Leschuk family would like to thank you for the support of your cards, visits, food and phone calls. Rest in peace, Sweetheart, no more suffering and pain.
A very special thank you to the wonderful doctors and nurses in Meadow Lake and Saskatoon who took special care of her, especially Dr. Haider and RN Dena Colleaux at the cancer clinic, for their loving care and concern. A special thank you to Martens Warman Funeral Home. God bless you all.
