Darl Harold Raketti

May 19, 1953 – January 20, 2019

It is with great sadness that the Raketti family announces the passing of their beloved husband, father and grandfather, Darl Harold Raketti of Dorintosh, SK on January 20, 2019.
Darl is lovingly survived by his wife: Becky Raketti; three children: Steven Raketti (Paige Leeman), Owen Raketti and Michelle Raketti; sister: Carol Raketti (Rick Turner); grandchildren: Riley Wiklund, Taylor Wiklund, Carter Wiklund, Connor Raketti, Taitum Raketti and Chloe Zachariuk-Venning.
Darl was predeceased by his parents: Calmer and Hazel Erickson; and biological parents: Harold and Kathleen Raketti.
Darl was the president of Viper Steam Ltd, started in May 2005 in Bonnyville, AB with his wife Becky and sons, Steven and Owen. Darl also owned and operated D&B Septic Service in Dorintosh for more than 30 years before venturing into the Alberta oilfield. Darl could often be found late into the evening at the Viper shop, waiting for trucks to come in, helping the mechanics and listening to the guys tell tales of their day. Darl loved to spend many hours in the Bobcat maintaining the yard and moving snow.
When Darl was not in Bonnyville working, he returned to his home in Dorintosh, where he enjoyed tinkering in the garage, splitting wood and hours in the Bobcat! Darl and Becky spent the summer camping, kayaking and fishing at Flotten Lake and Otter Lake. He loved spending time driving the back roads in the Meadow Lake Provincial Park, enjoying nature and having a weiner roast. Darl and Becky loved to travel and spent this past summer in Thunder Bay, ON reconnecting with family, some that he had never met, and enjoying the east coast of Canada. He was always open to the next adventure Becky had planned.
Darl was known as a storyteller, through his business he met many different people and always had a story about old so and so…. He remembered everything and everyone and loved telling those stories. He was patient, hardworking, respected and very much loved by all. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.
Tributes in memory of Darl may be given to Healing Haven Wildlife Rescue Inc. Box 126 Dorintosh, SK S0M 0T0.
