Labour Day weekend brought with it the tradition of the annual Flying Dust First Nation Powwow. The event took place Friday through Sunday (Sept. 4-6) and once again attracted participants and spectators from across the province and beyond. Clockwise from above: Dancers take to the powwow grounds during Friday’s grand entry; members of the drum group the Backroad Bandits, including Flying Dust First Nation member Blake Derocher (right), perform a traditional song; master of ceremonies Sanford Strongarm calls the action and excitement Friday evening.
