Bob passed away May 13, 2018 at the St. Paul’s Hospital, in Saskatoon, SK.
Bob was born in the farm house, north east of Dorintosh, SK on February 20, 1932. The second child born to Charlie and Irene, a brother for Vivian, later on an older brother to Donald, Elva, and Ellen. They all moved to Kenora, ON for a few years where he attended elementary school and then returned to Dorintosh again.
As a young man, Bob purchased farm land in the Neeb district to build a homestead. On October 18 1961, he married Mary Dunavan and raised three children Clifford, Adriane and Joyce.
In the early 70’s, Bob and his family returned to Dorintosh where he continued to farm. Bob loved the community of Dorintosh, and was very proud to say he was from Dorintosh. He loved the farm life and was always excited for seeding and harvesting, this was always a topic of conversation even during his retirement years.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Mary; son: Cliff (Wanda) McKay; daughters: Adriane (Lennard) Ouellette and Joyce (Robert) Klemmer, all residing in Meadow Lake and area. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; sister: Vivian (Loran) Schwartz, LeCorey AB and brother: Donald (Beulah) McKay Meadow Lake Sk.
Bob was predeceased by his parents: Charlie and Irene; two sisters: Elva Ruby and Ellen Gorst; brother-in-law: Wes Ruby; and sister-in-law: Donna McKay.
Funeral services were held on May 18, 2018 at Dorintosh Hall. Arrangements were made with J. E. Thomas Funeral Home & Crematorium. Diane Gagnon officiated, music by Peter Meier and the eulogy was given by Tim McKay. The pallbearers were Chris Albers, Brandon Eistetter, Kyle Gouldhawke, Scott Mckay, Keegan Ouellette and Rocky Ross. Interment was held at the Rosewood Cemetery in Dorintosh, SK.
