Viola passed away peacefully at the Northland Pioneers Lodge in Meadow Lake, SK at the young age of 99.
Viola was born to David Wilfred and Ellen Jane Reid in Delisle, SK and was the second oldest of four children. Growing up she attended school in Rhona Lake, SK in the Yellow Creek District. At the age of 17, in October of 1936, Viola moved to Morin Creek, SK.
October 9, 1940, Viola married Ernest Ludvigson. They proceeded to have seven children together. Ernest passed June 21, 1964.
Viola remained in Morin Creek where she remarried Alois Schatz Nov. 6, 1965. In October of 1969 they moved to Meadow Lake, SK. Shortly thereafter Alois passed away.

Viola lived for many years in the Golden West Manor, moving into the Northland Pioneers Lodge Sept. 1, 2012 until her passing.
In her younger years, before she was married, Viola worked on farms for a number of families. In her later years she helped Mrs. Brown look after a number of welfare children, and then onto work at Pearsons Store for a short while.
The focus on Viola’s three most important things, which are Faith, Love and Hope. These were all extremely important, but we can all agree that the most important for Viola was Love.
Viola had an immense love for all of her family and friends. We all have felt and experienced what True Love is because of her. She had this innate ability to envelope everyone in love no matter if you knew her once, a year, or every day.
Viola loved dancing; dancing was her main priority over any other activity. She loved card games, bingo, puzzleing, baseball, horseshoes, bowling and all games which were fun and a challenge, but she usually ended up winning.
This special lady many quilts and rugs for all her family and some friends.
Viola, thank you for gifting us with your presence of 99 years. Thank you for choosing us. Our lives are truly blessed because of you.
Viola is survived by her seven children: Norma (Marvin) Arnold; Robert (Linda) Ludvigson; Joyce (Orville) Houston; Elaine (Lenard) Greenhough; David Ludvigson (Sarah); Norman (Leslie) Ludvigson; Debbie (Brian) Koch. As well as several grand children, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Orlena; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and many friends.
