On April 5, Meadow Lake RCMP became involved in an Internet luring investigation involving a 14-year-old victim. Subsequent investigation revealed two other victims 14 and 17 years of age.
All three victims were targets of a 37-year-old male living in the Meadow Lake area. With the assistance of the Saskatchewan INTERNET Child Exploitation Unit, Meadow Lake RCMP arrested the male and have charged him with the following: luring minors over the Internet for a sexual purpose; possession of child pornography; two counts of invitation to sexual touching; sexual exploitation of a person with a disability; two counts of sexual interference; make sexually explicit material available to a child; two counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual exploitation of a young person.
The male’s identity is being withheld to protect the identity of the victims. He appeared in Meadow Lake provincial court Monday (April 11).
This incident is separate from the occurrence in Meadow Lake last week that saw a 23-year-old male charged with 11 criminal offences including four counts of luring, two counts of make, possess and distribute child pornography, two counts of make explicit sexual material available to a child and two counts of sexual interference. The first suspect also appeared in court Monday.
